What Is Teeth in One Day?

Teeth in One Day — also called same-day implants or immediate load implants — is a treatment approach that allows qualifying patients to receive dental implants and a fixed, functional temporary arch of teeth in a single appointment. Rather than waiting months between implant placement and your first new smile, you leave the same day with teeth in place.

How Same-Day Implants Work

Same-day delivery is possible because of the precision made available through advanced 3D cone beam CT imaging and digital treatment planning. Before your surgical appointment, Dr. Kass maps the exact position, angle, and depth for each implant based on your unique bone structure — removing the guesswork that would otherwise make same-day delivery too risky.

On the day of your procedure, any remaining failing teeth are removed, implants are placed according to that pre-built surgical plan, and a fixed temporary prosthetic arch is attached the same day. The temporary arch functions like a full set of teeth while your implants integrate with the jawbone — typically over a period of several months — before your final, permanent restoration is placed.

Am I a Candidate for Same-Day Implants?

Not every patient qualifies for immediate loading, and that is an honest, important distinction. Same-day candidacy depends primarily on the volume and density of available jawbone, your overall health, and the condition of your existing teeth and gums.

Patients with significant bone loss are sometimes told they are not candidates for implants at all — same-day or otherwise. Why Same-Day Doesn’t Mean Fewer Implants

Speed is often marketed as a reason to use fewer implants per arch — some same-day systems on the market use as few as four implants specifically because it shortens the procedure. First Dental Implant Center does not take that approach.

A four-implant arch places significantly more functional demand on each individual implant, particularly during the healing and integration period when the bite is still adjusting to a fixed restoration. What to Expect on the Day of Your Procedure

Before Your Appointment — Planning and Imaging

Same-day delivery only works because of what happens beforehand. Dr. Kass uses 3D cone beam CT imaging and digital impressions to map your entire procedure — implant number, placement, angle, and the design of your temporary arch — well before your surgical date.

Morning — Implant Placement

Any remaining failing teeth are removed and a minimum of 6 implants per arch are placed according to your individualized surgical plan.

Same Day — Fixed Temporary Arch

A fixed temporary prosthetic arch is attached to your new implants the same day. You leave with a complete, functional set of teeth — not a removable temporary, and not a gap.

Following Months — Healing and Integration

Your implants integrate with the jawbone over several months. Dr. Kass monitors this healing process through follow-up visits and imaging.
